DC Shoes Announce Olympic Snowboarder as New Marketing Director
Edgy Californian fashion brand DC Shoes have unveiled US professional snowboarder Jason Smith as the Marketing Director of DC Snow.
The American punk-favourite fashion label DC Shoes have this week announced a new Marketing Director for their DC Snow line, which produces extreme winter sport equipment, clothing and accessories. They also field an elite snowboarding team. Jason Smith will be taking over the planning and application of all of DC Snow’s marketing initiatives including print, digital, team and events.
Smith said: “I’m excited for this journey and am honoured to be working for such an iconic brand. I’m really looking forward to combining my previous experience in all aspects of the industry and working with our elite team of athletes.”
Smith will Bring First-Hand Experience to DC Shoes
Smith comes into the position as something as a heavy-weight in the industry with 20 years of valuable experience. His background includes marketing and sales in the clothing industry. It probably also helps that he’s a professional snowboarder and Olympic athlete, having competed at the 2006 Winter games.
Smith explained his love for the sport: "Growing up in Colorado and being part of the mountains, snowboarding is such a good way to stay in touch with the mountains whether it's back in Colorado or travelling around the world."
He will be working closely with Nick Olsen, DC’s Snow Team Manager, and all of the DC Snow team riders to continue to grow the DC’s Snow program.
“We are looking forward to having Jason lead the Snow Marketing program and team as we head into the Winter 2011 snow season,” said Kelly Magrath, DC’s Vice President of Marketing.
